From There to Here A Story Behind Me
In any new environment, I’m always asked a simple question, “Where are you from?” I never knew how to find an answer until I realize that who I am now is a culmination of my past experiences. This book is a documentation of each location I’ve stayed in. I’m grateful for every person who accompanied me during each period and for the person I was in that specific time and space.
Through observing the details of daily life, I suddenly realized that my taste preferences have been subtly shaped by experiences in different geographical locations.
But as an individual with independent will, unlike Frankenstein, these past experiences have shaped who I am now. I am a hybrid of past experiences, while simultaneously, what I am experiencing now, in conjunction with these past events, creates infinite possibilities for my future.
Inspired by the concept of packaging and parcels, the book is designed to evoke a sense of movement and transition. The wire binding enhances flexibility, while the halved pages invite readers to mix and match. This interactive feature allows each moment to be reconstructed and reimagined, capturing the dynamic essence of life.
